Couples Therapy

There are many reasons why couples seek therapy.  The most common reasons include lack of affection/intimacy/love, lack of understanding, divorce/separation, and arguments.  When you come in for couples therapy, I will work with you and your partner to bring your relationship back into harmony.   

During sessions, there are really three clients in the room: the two partners and the relationship itself as the “third” client.  The relationship is the dance between two people.  When that dance is looked at and made conscious, each partner is able to gain an understanding of the other’s perspective, and you will no longer step on each other’s toes.

 

What to Expect from Couples Therapy

In couples therapy, I teach effective communication skills which help both partners get their needs met.  The goal is to create win-win situations so that both people feel honored and respected.  This ultimately leads to growth.
